Oregon Seniors

1949 The USTA/PNW started recording rankings for the Junior vets (35's) and vets (45's) categories.

1952 James Hodgkins & Ed Leonard win the USTA Hardcourt Championships - Men's 45 Doubles.

1958 The Denny Cardinall team competition started. It began with competition of the best senior players from British Columbia versus the best players from the state of Washington. In 1963, the state of Oregon joined the competition.

1962 Emery Neale won his first national title in Seattle at the World's Fair. He captured the Junior Veterans Singles championship.

1962 Claude Hockley and Sam Lee were the first Pacific Northwest players to be selected to the U.S. Gordon Cup team in senior matches with Canada.

1963 Emery Neale wins the USTA Hardcourt Championships - Men's 35 doubles.

1967 Emery Neale wins the National 45 Indoor Singles championship. He also paired with Sam Lee to win the National 45 Indoor Doubles championships.

1968 Emery Neale wins the USTA Hard Court Championships for the 3rd year in a row - Men's 45 singles.

1969 Emery Neale wins the USTA Indoor Championships & the USTA Hardcourt Championships - Men's 45 doubles.

1970 The USTA/PNW expands the senior rankings to include categories in addition to the vets and junior vets categories.

1982 Portland hosted the Gordon Cup matches at the Racquet Club. Oregon players included: Emery Neale, Leonard Clark, Sam Lee, Claude Hockley, Ross Hughes, Jack Neer, Ed Wofford, Jim Dixon, Bob Horning. The Racquet Club later hosted the Gordon Cup 2 additional times.

1983 The Irvington Club starts hosting the Oregon Indoor Senior Tournament.

1987 Carolyn Lumber wins the USTA National 35 and over doubles tournament and repeats in 1988 with Nancy Osborne. Those years they were ranked number two in the country. In 1989 Carolyn was ranked number four in singles in the 35's.

1987 Roger McKee wins the USTA Hard Court championships - Men's 35 singles, he also won the USTA Grass court championship - Men's 35 doubles.

1993 Mike Tammen wins the USTA Indoor Championship - Men's 35 Singles & Doubles.

1994 Wayne Pickard wins the USTA Hard Court championships - Men's 35 doubles.

1995 Wayne Pickard wins the USTA Hard Court championships - Men's 40 doubles.

1996 Mike Tammen wins the USTA Hard Court Championships - Men's 35 Singles for the 2nd year in a row.

1996 Wayne Pickard wins the USTA Indoor championships - Men's 40 singles & doubles.

2001 Len Wofford wins the USTA Hard Court championships - Men's 50 Singles.

2004 USTA national women’s seniors singles and doubles tournament conducted at the West Hills Racquet Club. In 2004 it included the 80's and 90's. In 2005 through 2008 it included 70's, 80's, and 90's.

2005 USTA national men’s 50’s indoor singles championships conducted at the MAC for the 2nd consecutive year.

2007 Len Wofford and Paul Wulff win the USTA National Indoor Championships - Men's 55 doubles. Woffard also won the Men's 55 Singles championships.

2008 Dougal Williams wins the USTA National Grass Court Championships - Men's 30 singles.
