Junior Group Lessons

Junior Group Swim Lessons

Schedules will be released in April 2009.

Junior Group Classes

All skills listed below are skills that will be taught and must be completed to move to the next level

Pre-Swimmer (Maximum 4/ class)

Level 1 Skills (11:00-11:30): 10 bobs with bubbles & breath, blow bubbles, put entire face in water, assisted kick board kick on front & back, assisted shallow water jump

Level 2 Skills (11:45-12:15): front glide 5 seconds, back glide 5 seconds, unassisted kick board kick on front & back, unassisted shallow water jump, open eyes underwater

Beginner (Maximum 4/class)

Level 1 Skills (11:45-12:15): Front kick for half width, back kick for half width, kick board kick on front 1 width, kick board kick on back 1 width, deep water jump

Level 2 Skills (11:45-12:15): Front crawl 1 width, side-glide-kick 1 width, sitting dive, kneeling dive, shallow underwater retrieval, introduction to backstroke

Intermediate/Advanced (Maximum 6/class)

Level 1 Skills (11:00-11:30): Front crawl with side breathing 25 yards, backstroke 25 yards, kick board kick on front 25 yards, kick board kick on back 25 yards, tread 15 seconds, deep water bobs, introduction to dolphin kick, standing dive

Level 2 Skills (11:00-11:30): Breaststroke1 width, front crawl with alternate side breathing 25 yards, introduction to butterfly, breaststroke kick board kick 1 width, tread 30 seconds, swim underwater 1 width, deep underwater retrieval.

Junior Lifeguard (Minimum of 6, Maximum of 12)

This class will be held during the regular class sessions, Monday-Friday from 12:15-1:45 pm. The cost of each class is $110.00. Ages 11-14 and all participants must be able to swim 2 laps of freestyle.

The Junior Lifeguard class will teach lifeguarding skills, pool safety, first aid, CPR, rescue techniques, and overall improvement of swimming skills.This class will prepare students for a Lifeguard Certification Class and future employment opportunities as a lifeguard. All students also get a Junior Lifeguard T-Shirt.

Water Babies - Parent & Child

This is a drop in class on Sundays from 11:30-12:00. This class will begin on Sunday, June 15. Cost is $8.00 per class and is intended for ages 6 months to 3 years.

Water Babies is an introduction to the water for infants and toddlers accompanied by parents. Learn beginning water skills such as bubbles, floating, and kicking while becoming more comfortable in the water.
