Summer 2010 Adult Tennis Lessons (Updated 7/2/10) SUMMER SCHEDULE (Begins weeks of June 21 and runs through September 4, unless otherwise specified at Club)
Cardio Tennis Irvington will begin Cardio Tennis. This fun and upbeat tennis class will surely get your heart rate up all while giving you a good tennis practice. Cardio Tennis is designed to give you a great workout and practice tennis all at the same time. Tired of just running or using the elliptical? Then give this class a try. You’ll go through bursts of constantly hitting tennis balls in a variety of drills, take a brief rest, and then do it all over again. With upbeat music in the background, players pushing you to the limit, and hitting a wide variety of shots, you won’t even realize you just put in a good hour long workout. Cardio Tennis will run every Thursday from 8:30-9:30 am on the outdoor court beginning on Tuesday, June 22. Sign-up at the front desk every week just like you would a normal weekly tennis class. Cost is $11 per class if we have 6 or more people sign-up. Weekly Group Classes Whether you are a beginning player or a player just entering your prime, The Irvington Club has a group class for you. All of the group classes are taught by USPTA certified pros Walter Seidel and Cris Valverde. For information on class policies, please scroll down. Below is the fee schedule for all adult group lessons:
Irvington Club Adult Class Policies Everyone may sign-up for a class one week in advance (for example, if you sign-up for a Monday 5:30 class, you may sign-up at 6:30 the previous Monday). Full Club Members have first priority. Everyone else will be placed on the class waitlist and will be invited in the following order: Associate Members, Club Waitlisters, Non-Members. It is the responsibility of players on the class waitlist to call the Club to see if they got in the class. For a morning class, call at 5:00 pm the night before to see if you are in. For an evening class, call at 9:00 am the day of to see if you are in. If a full Club member wants to play in a class at a higher level (i.e. a 2.5 member wants in a 3.0 class), then that full Club member will be placed on the class waitlist. At the designated times listed above, the full Club member may call to see if they got in the class. In this situation, a player (member, waitlister, or non-member) of the same NTRP rating as the class will get into the class prior to the member at a lower rating (for exmaple, if it is a 3.0 class, a 3.0 waitlister would get in ahead of a 2.5 member). This is done to ensure the class level stays at its designated NTRP rating level. If a Club waitlister takes a class, it does not count towards the three guest visits per month. All players (members, waitlisters, and non-members) must cancel a class 24 hours in advance (or more). Failure to cancel a class within 24 hours or not showing up for a registered class will result in being charged the full amount of the class. If the class is a session (a class that runs for more than one week at a time) a late cancellation fee of $25 will be charged if canceled less that 5 days prior to the first class starting. If you have any questions regarding the weekly classes, please contact Walter Seidel or Cris Valverde at 503-287-8749. Private Lessons Private lessons are also available. Please call the Club at 503-287-8749 and speak directly with Walter Seidel or Cris Valverde. If a private lesson is canceled less than 24 hours prior to the start of the lesson, a $25 late cancellation fee will be charged. The private lesson rates are as follows:
